In our researches into the many-splendoured worlds of the greater multiverse, there is one universal constant wherever one chooses to go: opportunism - the ability to pull oneself up by one's bootstraps and seize whatever opportunities and advantages life presents to you, making lemonade out of the lemons that others may discard, disregard, or perhaps not even notice. It may shock you to know that I myself came from such humble beginnings, with only trifling billions and one - count them, one! - multinational mega-conglomerate between myself and destitution. But I digress. Further examination of the plane of reality that brought us 'The Asteroid that Time forgot' has revealed another entrepreneur after my own heart: one Samara Centaurus. A self-styled 'Mad Scientist' cruising the highways and byways of space, Ms. Centaurus plies her trade on the margins of a galaxy overseen by a sickeningly-moral Democratic Federation of Worlds (ugh, my third liver clenches just thinking about it), taking the technological cast-offs of the masses and re-purposing them into things better suited to the true purpose of fully-sentient beings - the double-crossing and be-conquerment (I am the Mason, I can make up words whenever I want) of those less equipped to deal with those as smart as she. That's the kind of can-do attitude that gets you somewhere in this modern day and age!
